I heard an interesting concept the other day. My youth minister told us: A childish faith says the more I know God, the more perfect I become. But a child-like faith says the more I know God, the easier it becomes to see our imperfections.
Interested idea.
i see them saying the same thing and both can be true. if its easier to see my imperfections then something can be done to be more perfect.thats what we strive for is perfection even though we know only one is perfect and thats Jesus. He came down here in the flesh and did all things well.i myself am a long way from perfection but thank God Jesus took the wound in the side for my transgressions.i thank the Lord for His mercy.maybe none of us will ever reach perfection untill we get our glorified body but let us keep fighting the good fight
I find it odd that anyone can claim to know god more than anything else.
This is not a criticism.
Child like faith maybe could be more accurately described as the more you think you know god the less you actually know.
This is why you see more imperfections.
I see childlike faith as being similar to the scenario of if you place your child on top of something and hold your arms out reaching for the child the child has the faith to jump into the parents arms without fear of falling or being dropped because the child has the assurance mom or dad will never let me down and thats the way christian ought to be towards GOD .
Hey that’s another GREAT way to approach this illustration! Nice!
